Kadar/karar: kadar and karar are both words used in Ladino to roughly mean 'amount.' They come from the Turkish word kadar. These two options vary widely among speakers, though karar may be more common in Izmir.
To turn on: ensender and asender are both ways to say this.
ensender is more common in Izmir.
asender is more common in Istanbul.
Plate: chini and plato are both ways to say this.
chini comes from the Turkish çini, which shares its roots with the English word "china."
plato is a Latin-origin word.
